WHAT TO EXPECT

How the job goes

No runaround and no mystery — here's how we run the work from first call to finished job.

01

Test what's in your water

Our plumber starts with your actual water — hardness, iron, sediment, taste and odor issues — because the right system depends entirely on what's coming out of your well or main.

02

Match the system to the problem

You get a recommendation matched to your water and your goals: a softener for scale, RO for drinking water, iron and sediment filtration for wells — and a straight answer if you don't need something.

03

Clean install, no shortcuts

The system goes in with proper bypasses, drains, and connections, so it's easy to service and doesn't leak into your mechanical room three months later.

04

Show you how it works

Before leaving, our plumber walks you through salt refills, filter changes, and what maintenance actually matters — so the system keeps making great water for years.

How do I know if I need a water softener?
White scale on faucets and shower glass, dishes that come out spotted, dry skin, water heaters and appliances dying early — that's hard water, and most of the Billings area has it. A quick hardness test tells you exactly where you stand, and our plumber does that as part of a free water consultation.
What's the difference between a softener and reverse osmosis?
A softener treats the whole house — it removes the hardness minerals that scale up pipes, fixtures, and appliances. Reverse osmosis is a fine filter, usually at the kitchen sink, that makes your drinking and cooking water clean and great-tasting. Many homes benefit from both: softener for the house, RO for the tap you drink from.
Can you treat well water outside city limits?
Yes — rural and well-water homes are a specialty. Iron staining, sulfur smell, sediment, hardness: each has a specific fix, and it starts with testing your water rather than guessing. If you're hauling or buying bottled water, a treatment system often pays for itself surprisingly fast.
What does a water treatment system cost?
It depends on what's in your water and what you want fixed — a kitchen RO unit is a much smaller job than whole-home iron filtration. Our plumber tests your water free, tells you what you actually need (and what you don't), and gives you a written price before anything is installed.
Does spring runoff affect my well water?
It can. Snowmelt and spring runoff around the Yellowstone Valley can pull sediment and surface water toward shallow wells, changing taste, clarity, and quality for weeks. If your water turns cloudy or tastes different every spring, proper filtration — sized for your well — usually solves it for good.
